Muslim Students in Winnipeg to Organize Humanitarian Aid for Morocco and Libya

نظم اتحاد الطلاب المسلمين في جامعة مانيتوبا ، بالتعاون مع رابطة الطلاب المصريين بأمريكا الشمالية في مانيتوبا في مركز مجتمع جنوب وينيبيج في ويفرلي، حملة تبرعات لدعم إخواننا وأخوتنا في المغرب وليبيا الذين يمرون بأوقات صعبة بعد الزلزال المدمر والفيضانات التي ضربت البلدين الشقيقين كوقفة انسانية تقدم الدعم والمساندة للمتضررين من هذه الكوارث الطبيعية.

بائعي المواد الغذائية الرائعين يصطفون اليوم، ويقدمون مجموعة واسعة من الأطباق الشهية المتنوعة. ليتم تخصيص جميع عائدات بيعها لتوفير الإغاثة للعائلات والأفراد المتضررين في المغرب وليبيا.

زهير المصري التقى بمريم محمد رئيسة اتحاد الطلبة المسلمين في جامعة مانيتوبا وصرحت قائلة: نجتمع اليوم  لجمع التبرعات للمغرب وليبيا. ولذلك، فإننا نبذل قصارى جهدنا لتقديم المساعدة للمحتاجين من خلال أشكال الدعم المختلفة، بما في ذلك المساهمات المالية والغذاء والمأوى. ومن واجبنا كمسلمين أن نتحد وندعم أولئك الذين يعانون من الألم أو الضيق. نحن نؤمن أنه عندما يتألم جزء من الجسم، فإن الجسد كله يشعر بذلك، وبالتالي، يجب علينا أن نمد يد العون لمساعدة هذه الدول المتضررة.

مريم محمد أضافت :كطلاب مسلمين، نحن نبذل قصارى جهدنا فالأمر لا يتعلق بفريقنا فقط بل يشمل جميع الأعضاء التنفيذيين والمتطوعين المجتمعيين الذين تقدموا للمساهمة في عملهم المهم والمتميز.

تم تصميم اتحادنا لمعالجة المشاكل والقضايا ضمن قدراتنا. ونحن نهدف إلى إيجاد الحلول ومساعدة أفراد المجتمع، وخاصة الطلاب المسلمين في الحرم الجامعي أو داخل المجتمع الأكبر خارجه. يجب أن نجد طرقًا لتقديم الدعم، وكما ذكرنا، نحن نادي طلابي. لا نتوقع من جميع الطلاب المساهمة ماليًا، ولكننا نأمل أن يتمكنوا من التطوع بوقتهم ومهاراتهم وجهودهم. فبدون تفاني متطوعينا المجتهدين، سيكون من المستحيل تقريبًا تنظيم حدث مثل هذا فكل جهد مهم لإحداث تأثير إيجابي في اي مكان من العالم. كما عبرت مريم محمد.

  هنا في وينيبيغ نؤمن بأن كل شيء مهما كان صغيراً يساعد في إحداث التغيير. الأمر لا يتعلق فقط بالطعام، بل يتعلق بالاجتماع معًا كمجتمع لدعم المحتاجين المساهمة في إحداث تأثير إيجابي في حياة إخواننا وأخواتنا في المغرب وليبيا وتعليم الاجيال القادمة في وينيبيغ معنى الرحمة ومساعدة المحتاجين.

The Muslim Student Association at the University of Manitoba MSA, in collaboration with the Egyptian Students Association in North American – Manitoba Chapter ESANA, organized a fundraising campaign to support Morocco and Libya.

The two countries are going through challenging times after the devastating earthquake and floods that struck both nations. This humanitarian initiative aims to support and assist those affected by these natural disasters. All proceeds from their sales will be allocated to provide relief for the families and individuals affected in Morocco and Libya.

Zuher Almusre met with Mariyam Mohammad, president of the Muslim Student Association at the University of Manitoba, who stated, “We have gathered to raise funds for Morocco and Libya. Therefore, we are putting forth our utmost efforts to provide assistance to those in need through various forms of support, including financial contributions, food, and shelter. As Muslims, it is our duty to unite and support those in pain or distress. We believe that when one part of the body hurts, the whole body feels it, and therefore, we must reach out to help these affected nations.”

Mohammad added, “As Muslim students, we are doing our best. It’s important to mention that this is not just about our team; it includes all executive members and community volunteers who have stepped forward to contribute their essential and remarkable work. Our union is designed to address issues and challenges within our capabilities. We aim to find solutions and help members of the community, especially Muslim students on campus and within the broader society. It is crucial to understand that when we talk about Moroccan or other problems, they are not confined to a specific region but have a global impact. We must find ways to provide support, and as mentioned, we are a student club. We do not expect all students to contribute financially, but we hope they can volunteer their time, skills, and efforts. Without the dedication of our hardworking volunteers, it would be nearly impossible to organize an event like this. Here in Winnipeg, we believe that every contribution, no matter how small, helps make a change. It’s not just about the food; it’s about coming together as a community to support those in need and instill in the next generations in Winnipeg the meaning of compassion and helping the less fortunate in Morocco and Libya.”
