After A Long Wait, The Permanent Collection is Back at the Winnipeg Art Gallery

Art has been a beautiful and cherished concept practically forever. Every century, different art movements have been the best way to relax the mind and impress the eyes. In Winnipeg, art is very appreciated and liked. Most Winnipeggers get excited when the Winnipeg Art Gallery (WAG) opens to show its best collections and the most beautiful paintings.

The Winnipeg Art Gallery (WAG) has a long and fascinating history. The art gallery began in 1912 in an old federal building in the city, and it was simply two rented rooms. After its business grew and flourished, the Winnipeg Art Gallery became more significant and outstanding. Moreover, its building was built as an “iconic modernist building,” and its design was impressive and extraordinary.

The Winnipeg Art Gallery doesn’t just look charming from the outside. It has the most lovely and tempting art inside. The Winnipeg Art Gallery houses more than twenty-eight thousand works of art, with many viewable by the public at any given time.

The best thing about the Winnipeg Art Gallery is its permanent collection of diverse arts from different continents and international artists. Moreover, it holds the most extensive collection of “modern and contemporary Inuit art” worldwide.

Many people enjoy going to the Winnipeg Art Gallery to enjoy the artworks and participate in different events that the Winnipeg Art Gallery hosts. Moreover, many upcoming events will make everyone’s visit even more enjoyable, such as the opening celebration event, the Germaine Arnaktauyok Print Sale, the weekend drop-in tours, the summer art camp, the new permanent art gallery for kids, and so many other events that will take place in the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

“As an art gallery, we have a responsibility to the community to give them the same opportunities that we promote in the building,” said Taylor Goodson, the WAG’s manager of advancement, after being asked about the new permanent gallery for kids.

The Winnipeg Art Gallery is reopening the doors of its permanent collection for visitors today. Everyone with a heart for, and admiration towards, art is very excited to visit and get impressed with fascinating interior design to the most stunning artworks in all of Manitoba, if not Canada.

“I’m very excited and couldn’t even sleep yesterday, which might seem very dramatic, but I enjoy coming here, and I would recommend it to everyone, even if you’re not passionate about art.” said a regular visitor of the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

The WAG is open to anyone who wants to relax their minds and enjoy a pleasant, quiet visit to a place full of wonders and beauty. You can check out this link for information on the Winnipeg Art Gallery, its visiting schedule, and the events hosted.
