في 20 يونيو من كل عام، يحتفل العالم بيوم اللاجئ العالمي. الأمم المتحدة حددت هذا اليوم تكريماً للاجئين في جميع أنحاء العالم الذين أجبروا على الفرار من ديارهم حفاظا على أرواحهم وارواح عائلاتهم. مدينة وينيبيغ شاركت العالم هذا الإحتفال في حديقة سنترال بارك.
المنصة المدنية استضافة سيد عمر أحمد المدير التنفيذي المساعد لجمعية مانيتوبا لمنظمات خدمة الوافدين الجدد (مانسو) وقال: نجنمع هنا أكثر من 20 منظمة من مانيتوبا للإحتفال بيوم اللاجئ العالمي لعام 2023 ونحن جمعية مانيتوبا لمنظمات خدمة الوافدين الجدد مانسو المنظم الرئيسي لهذا الاحتفال, السبب الرئيسي لتجمعنا اليوم هو تكريم الاجئين حول العالم الذين تجاوز عددهم 108 ملايين شخص, اخر الإحصائيات التي أجريت في أواخر عام 2022 حول اللاجئين أظهرت بأن عدداً قليلاً جداً من اللاجئين من إستقر في دول أخرى نحن هنا في مانيتوبا على سبيل المثال لدينا 1000 شخص جاؤوا عبر مساعدة من الحكومة الكندية.
أضاف أحمد: رسالتي لمن يتابعني الأن أنه بإمكانهم مساعدة اللاجئين من خلال التبرع للمنظمات التي تساعد للاجئين او عبر كفالة أشخاص أو عائلات يتنظرون كفالة لكي يكونوا في مكان آمن لأنهم بذلك سيؤثرون بشكل مباشر في تحسين حياة إنسان آخر لبقية حياته.
أشار أحمد: خلال عملي أتواصل يومياً مع القادمين الجدد الذين أصبحوا اليوم قادرين على العمل والإنتاج والإستقرار في مانيتوبا لأنهم قدموا الى هنا بخبراتهم وشهاداتهم العلمية أنا على سبيل المثال قدمت إلى كندا وأنا حاصل على درجة البكالوريوس وكل ما كنت أحتاجه هو إعادة التأهيل للإستقرار في مانيتوبا.
يسلط هذا اليوم الضوء على عزيمة وشجاعة الأشخاص المجبرين على الفرار من أوطانهم هرباً من الصراعات أو الإضطهاد. ويعتبر يوم اللاجئ العالمي مناسبة لحشد التعاطف والتفهم لمحنتهم والإعتراف بعزيمتهم من أجل إعادة بناء حياتهم من جديد.
المناسبات الدولية كيوم اللاجئ العالمي تساعد على تحويل الإهتمام العالمي نحو محنة أولئك الفارين من الصراعات أو الاضطهاد، حيث تتيح العديد من الأنشطة التي تقام في يوم اللاجئ العالمي الفرص لدعم اللاجئين.
بصرف النظر عن زمن أو مكان اضطرارهم للفرار، فإن الحماية تبقى حقاً من حقوقهم فمهما كانت المخاطر, حرباً أم عنفاً أم اضطهاداً من حق الجميع التمتع بالحماية, ومن حق الجميع التنعم بالأمن والأمان.
Every year on June 20, the globe commemorates World Refugee Day. The United Nations established this day to honour refugees worldwide who were compelled to escape their homes to save their lives and the lives of their families. Winnipeg celebrated with the rest of the world in Central Park.
To learn more about World Refugee Day, U Multicultural Channel journalist Zuher Almusre met with Seid Oumer Ahmed, Associate Executive Director, Manitoba Association of Newcomer Serving Organizations (MANSO). Today, Ahmed remarked, the globe is honouring refugees, the number of whom has surpassed 108 million. According to the most recent refugee statistics collected in late 2022, very few refugees settled in other countries. In Manitoba, for example, 1,000 migrants arrived with assistance from the Canadian government.
Ahmed continued saying, “My message to those who are now following me is that they can help refugees by donating to organizations that help refugees or sponsoring people or families who are waiting for a guarantee in order to be in a safe place because doing so will directly affect the improvement of another person’s life for the rest of his life.”
Ahmed communicates daily with newcomers who can now work, produce, and settle in Manitoba due to their experience and scientific degrees. When he arrived in Canada with a bachelor’s degree, all he needed to live in Manitoba was rehabilitation.
World Refugee Day celebrates the fortitude and courage of people forced to leave their homes due to conflict or persecution. World Refugee Day is an opportunity to raise awareness and sympathy for their predicament and acknowledge their determination to rebuild their lives.
International events such as World Refugee Day help shift global attention toward the plight of those fleeing conflict or persecution. Many of the activities held on World Refugee Day provide opportunities to support refugees.
Protection remains one of their rights regardless of when or where they were forced to flee. Whatever the risks, war, violence or persecution, everyone has the right to enjoy protection, and everyone has the right to enjoy security and safety.
